Montana Fire came into Kalispell looking for a quick turnaround on this project before they headed South for fire season. We worked with the owners every step of the way to create this custom set of flames and MONTANA FIRE text graphics. Providing a variety of coverage and design options, we helped Montana Fire weigh the options of a full vehicle wrap versus a partial coverage vehicle wrap. In the end, the partial wrap made the most sense for their needs and budget.

 

We worked with the client to determine the style and pattern of the flames design before we started our design. The client wanted "real"flames and no "cartoony stuff" so we took inspiration from a number of airbrush paint jobs blending their orange and yellow flames with the  paint. The difficult part about designing flames in a partial vehicle wrap is blending the flames into the cars paint. We worked tediously to make sure that the edges of each flame fade into the cherry red paint of this Dodge Ram. The client had a clear vision for the way that her MONTANA FIRE text would sit on the side of the truck, so using her feedback we recreated this waving text graphic. From there we added a metal look to the lettering, and burnt away the edges of each letter allowing the flames to pass through portions of the text creating a burning affect.
